Changed For Good

November 7, 2018

I’m thanks giving this week for those who impact our lives. Today is the celebration of Diwali, a Hindu festival of lights that represents the victory of light over darkness. I enjoy the celebrations of many belief systems and appreciate the beauty of ideas that foster hope and thanks giving. This celebration comes at a time when a light that brought warmth at our hearth relinquished its energy here.  My mother lost her best friend and my heart breaks. Superhero and I talked about how these times remind us that life is measured by moments; times of laughter and success, failure and striving – the depth of each shared, either to celebrate or to bear, with those who love us. I recorded a small piece of a song below because my mother sang to me. It’s only a snippet, just a nod to the connections in this life. I’ve seen my mother sacrifice for friends and strangers alike, but I know this friend was one who loved and impacted her in equal measure.

Celebrate the Festival of Lights in your life
