Provincetown – My First Visit 2023

October 29,2023

An amazing week in Provincetown Massachusetts with authors, readers, artists, and musicians! I had several firsts.

Drumming session with Taz and friends stirred a rhythm in me for the week. A rhythm of fun and new experiences with people eager to empower and support one another.

The wine giveaway became a cozy chat with several authors as we spun the wheel of probabilities to find a winner. The wheel spun and destiny was done – congratulations Nan Campbell on winning the wine to celebrate your book publication in 2023! The book giveaway thrust a European reader into the spotlight, and surprise she is also an author – congratulations Kate Castle! How cool is that? She selected Rey Spangler’s book “Thrust”. Lucky for us Rey Spangler signed her book and took a picture with us. How serendipitous! Speaking of serendipity, a reader discovered one of her favorite authors, Melissa Brayden, stopped by to show her support. The beauty and kindness of these authors showed all week, sharing their time between events to empower others by listening and being present in those unique moments for readers.

Thank you, probability wheel, for your random assistance with the giveaway.

Thanks to Womencrafts for hosting the celebration of authors and readers. You can find Womenscrafts online. They are presently exhibiting brilliant art by johayartist. Their history, as an independent bookstore, and supporter of women dates back to 1976.

So, let’s rewind. My week started with a road trip that took me through the bottom edge of Vermont. A brief stop for some Christmas shopping led to meeting knowledgeable locals at the Vermont House. The beautiful house turned hotel showed off its points of inspiration, like the stunning copper counter that will definitely be in a book (wink). Then a check in at the local distillery and foodie shop for Vermont Maple Cream Liqueur and Vermont Blueberry Windsordale Cheese.

I know, I know, why was I in Vermont when headed to Provincetown? I promise you my sense of direction is still working. I planned to hit Boston first. There is a museum there called the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and its history plays a role in my book coming out March 19, 2024. The Hidden Relic Hunter: The Lost Portal Keys – Kindle edition by Westmore, Alexis. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. I completed much of my research online, yet knew I wanted to experience the unique museum in person. The trip to Provincetown provided the perfect opportunity to include a visit.

My arrival in P’town hummed with quiet energy starting with my reception at the Ellery Hotel where Denise, Julia, little Shawn, and big Shawn made my stay feel as magical as Aladdin with a genie, out of sight till “poof – whata ya need?” just when I needed it.

Delicious food in Provincetown everywhere!

One very special place knows how to make an everyday food extraordinary – The Grilled Cheese Gallery! The energetic and friendly owner created a ‘Night in Amsterdam’ Grilled Cheese with Tomato Basil Soup that my tastebuds will never forget.

Drumming Sessions, Food, Friends, and Writing Panels made the week fly by so fast. I’m already looking forward to next year!
