Zombie Apocalypse Clothing: Throw It Away or Keep?

May 25, 2016

Superhero threatens to throw this away every time it is seen, but hey, what will I wear for the zombie apocalypse?

I posted it because I saw an article this morning about brands that support their product with warranties for repair or replacement and this came to mind (laugh). I don’t consider myself a brand person in the sense that I shop for anything by looking for a name, but I do notice I return to purchase things I have tried that worked, were durable, or just functioned well. As I thought about this, it reiterated what makes a good brand. Things that are branded by a “name”, but have no quality, may become trendy—but seldom last.

In researching further I found a blog post. The blogger was talking about the mindset of a person wearing a particular brand. I was transfixed at how easily people button hole others as if an item of clothing speaks for every aspect of their life – and yet – I recognize a pattern of clothing wear might indicate something. This reminded me in equal parts: the detail I can create in my characters and to be mindful as I develop them in my writing.

This is here to prove I have been working. A lot of the math for the world building is on another sheet, or wall rather, but that’s a story for another day.

I started my post this morning, but didn’t finish before heading to my day job. So, I’m back to finish up. I still need to make some final decisions about the next few months. I have a confession—I’m a list maker, so here goes:

Okay, I made a duplicate of this page and left the list on it. You guys do not want to see that. However, one of the things on my list you may want to see is my ARC read of The Operator, the second book in Kim Harrison’s new Detroit Series with Peri Reed. I’m making plans (insert “welcome to the pit of despair. . .” for any reader who loves to be tortured about what’s coming next).

And here is a picture of my Dragon’s Blood, just because.

It’s still young. I planted it last year.
