Should I Keep The Butler?

October 21, 2016

So, we made pumpkin cookies and hired a butler. He’s great – when guests arrive he delivers their room key, some light reading, and a midnight snack. Three superb reasons to keep him, I say.

Now, what about the pumpkin cookies? Mmmm . . . we make pumpkin cookies every year at Halloween. The aromas, sights, and sounds of the kitchen are hypnotic. The butter sits on the counter softened to room temperature and slides easy to mix with other ingredients, like sugar, and flour as Superhero spins the beaters to catch what I dump in intervals, oh-and pumpkin; don’t forget the pumpkin. (sidenote: buy a mixer with three beaters if your children come home for holidays). 🙂 Let each batch sit to cool, then drizzle with caramel icing. I don’t think I have eaten a moister cookie. It’s a family favorite; so much so that often many of them get eaten before they’re iced. Personally, I blame the little mouse on the tray. He looks guilty, at least till the evidence appears on my hips (laugh). They are a delicious way to use pumpkin in your Halloween traditions.

You can’t talk about Halloween without thinking of the Hollows. I think Kim and Tim are doing a celebration of the Hollows this Halloween with a promotion for The Turn. Check Kim’s Facebook page or blog to get more information. I will share the clues for the Hollows feature every Friday.

Second clue:  I can’t make it easy, we’ve too far yet to go, but if you read Kim’s Waylaid you may be in the know.

How can I win?

  1. Waylaid is the crossover book between the Hollows and the Peri Reed series. If you’ve read it, go to Kim’s Goodreads page and tell her what you liked about it. If you haven’t read it go to Kim’s Goodreads and ask her about it.
  2.  Email me at AlexisTDH@outlook.com with your Goodreads name and your guess about who The Witch with No Name is autographed to.
  3. I will enter you to win The Witch with No Name (Global opportunity: I will ship international).

Click here if you want to buy Waylaid for less than a dollar or gift it as a Halloween card.

Here is the next Sudoku puzzle you will need for the final week of November.
