We have the boys with us while mommy is on holiday, taking some well-deserved me time. Louis was a gift to her from us, and our family dog for years. Winston is a rescue dog our Golden Egg fell in love with while away at school. If you’ve been watching my blog the last few days, you know I have been away from home to celebrate some special achievements by our Golden Egg.  Winston isn’t in the picture below because he mostly skipped school, but he was the perfect addition near the end.

Now I’m back home and settled at my desk reorganizing and planning for the upcoming weeks.

I posted a similar picture on an author’s page this morning under her comments, but I think it had coffee in it – not tea. I like both, so you never know which you might find in my cup. Aaaah . . . it’s good to be home.

I’m excited about May. My plan for the manuscript is to spend the entire month rewriting/reworking/polishing the final chapter. That may sound bizarre, and may turn out to be. However, I finished my rewrite on schedule, but still don’t feel 100% comfortable with the end. It is so easy in rewrites to get to the end and be so “done” with it that I lose the focus I need to really give the end the time it needs. So, I decided to do this. I still plan to do the read aloud as my next step after this, and I will make notes to myself as I rework the end about things that may need to be modified in the earlier chapters, but I feel I have kept it tight enough those changes can be used to enhance what is already there. We will see.
