Not Being A Grinch . . .

Hi guys. I’m not being a Grinch, it just seems everything is falling into place all at one time (smile). Not complaining, I just need to take time to organize and do my best.

Project – N moved a new step and I had a difficult decision recently. It is easy for me to get distracted by all the new things there are to learn and do in the world. So, when an opportunity presented itself I had to decide whether to stay focused or add one more thing to my plate. Superhero reminded me about what writing and those I admire have taught me. I made a decision and I feel . . . different. I think it is always a conflict when you do things contrary to your nature and I wrestle with wanting to be true to myself, utilize my strengths, and still get better at the flip side of those strengths that still need work. In the words of a very unique man who contributed much, “What is the best use of me?”

Today Superhero and I allowed ourselves a lazy, just for us, day. We cranked the Christmas music up early while a new recipe of French bread with honey and orange juice baked in the oven. We disagreed about what to do first till melting pine candles, honey drizzled French toast, and Peggy Lee’s Christmas Waltz changed our minds and we decided to dance first. We wrapped gifts and worked on something special for our golden egg and her fiancé. I can’t post the special thing for obvious reasons, but may share it later. Instead, below is almost six feet of wrap and bow happiness. I purchased the column at an estate sale for a dollar, added the mounting brackets and dowels. It is on wheels so it spins easily to put access to wrapping paper and ribbon at our fingertips.

The gifts don’t have to be many or expensive, but we enjoy making each one special.
