Pole Dancing To Ballet—My Kind of Day

April 2-3, 2017

Pole dancer to ballerina—what it takes to be both. There is a core strength in dance that stretches across the spectrum from individual choreographed routines to structured pirouettes framed by a company.

I love the beauty and expression of dance. It is an artistic form that reaches back beyond story telling when we spoke only with our bodies unmanipulated by the craft of words.

Now, transported to modern day with the speed and drive of instantaneous it is easy to forget the subtle truth of conversations spoken without words. The action of saying you deserve the best, by those willing to make the impossible happen.

Speaking of the craft of words and the impossible, I am still alive as I find center in two worlds.

The manuscript review is steady. I’m fearless as I pass each section with it’s helpful red ink. I smile as the answers — hidden in my mind — trickle from my thoughts to my fingertips. Parts of the story I didn’t tell, or sectors of the world I built, but left undescribed, aglow now on the page confirmed in there purpose.

Project-n took a step forward. I recently received support from a mentor that left me without the words to say thank you. These are times I mark in my mind their example and remind myself kindness always makes a circle.

Overall, an incredible week and weekend, even if the artistic outlet which I was trying to keep a secret was discovered this past weekend (smile).

I spent time with a group of ladies determined to challenge the future as each reaches to a destiny they design. It’s nice to know there are those who can be steady in six-inch heels and enjoy the physics of a properly accelerated pirouette (wink). You know who you are. Dare to defy gravity–you’re wicked!
